A nice morning at Linz Hauptbanhof
Ok.........
So, after the nice party, I went straight to catch the train to Vienna (no sleep).
Suddenly I see this drunk guy, bagging for something at the Info point....
It's Ewan.... no money.... stucked at the Hauptbanhof....
If you want to know more details, ask him!!!
I'm just not sure if he can remember everything....

Gernika 1937- IV- 26
Since the thing is about comemorations...
Gernika was bombed by Hitler´s planes, with Mussolini´s help by Franco´s order such day as today 70 years ago, during the spanish civil war.
Gernika was a peaceful small basque village. It was a market- fair day and the village was crouded with people. General Franco decided to give our contry "a warning" by bombing Gernika whitch was, and still is, a symbol of basque freedom and independence.
Gernika was to become the 1st population to be bombed by planes in history...
For more info. you know... but there goes a link

Down with fascism!!!

Revolucao dos Cravos
(a bit of history) it´s always good to know. This Revolution was called "Revolucao dos Cravos", because of this flower you see in the picture. In the dawn of 25th of April 1974, the milatary entered Lisbon and took down the government, Portugal lived in a dictatorship for several years. There were no victms, and the soldiers started putting these red flowers (given by a lady who was selling flowers in the street)in their rifles, has a sign of Peace and Freedom! After this revolution started a period of Democracy that continued until our days.
Revolucao dos Cravos!
I'm not one of the revoluncionary people…but as I couldn't stay without saying nothing on this day, in honor of the my sweet Portugal and the day of our freedom…I leave this image "Ponte 25 de Abril", that has the name of the revolution, and actualy, the bridge that connect the Capital with the south of the country!

Back to Linzer Torte!
Back from the excursion!
An adventure, I have to say!!
Between 600 pictures or more,I had to choose one to post here...uff! Well I think this describes in a good way (somehow...hum...?) our life during this 15 days: Architecture mixed with hangover! Ihihi!

upcoming holydays
oh, joy!
yes, it is true - in austria they will have soon holydays again. they call it phingsten or something, and it means that nobody doesnt have to work or go to school AGAIN. i think it is from 25.-29. may. so anybody has plans? because if no, i think i have to go with tim-tom to leipzig to wave gothic festival. whole city full of gothic people. 4 days there - it will creep me out. i would maybe not go if something better occures. so let me know about that "better" - otherwise i start to prepare already my gothic festival outfit, u know - something in yellow-green-red and flower batterns.
liisu,

Pico is under sixteen.
well then, as nobody feels like doing so, i think i have to write about daumenkino festival even though i probably was the one to be there at shortest(erasmus students are a band of lazy bastards, who feel like living on the cost of UE, and everybody knows that, and there you go, here we have the results: no post about flipt), cause it would be a pity to forget that it took place.
to shortly sum all the event up, i'll quote jan,who noticed: "kids are much better". so basically we like the works in the participant-category "under sixteen" much better. apart from this we also liked pico's work. maybe she's under sixteen.

One banana for each day off the week!
Let´s try to post...
I think this will be one of the worst message on this blog, but it is also my first one...As a present here is an Atomic Force Microscope picture (49µm, the diameter of a human hair is for example 80µm) of a polymer layer, but (to me) this picture looks a bit like those deserts in western movies - I may be the only person here to care about such things, but know you´ll know why i am during hours in a lab, hidden from the sun... Ciao ! Have a nice day and Week End !!! See You !

The truth about the country we're living in.
okay. so we already now what is linz famous for, cause pico once told us, that one of the first things you find when googling for linz is that hitler's mother tomb is here.
now hereby i can inform you what is austria's itself speciality. maybe you think these are mozart kugeln or joyful cows cheerfully chewing grass on alps' pictoresque slopes? no, i tell you! christoph told me that what austria has the highest rate of is the highest in the world average number of rescue helicopters per one citizen.
so, dear erasmus, don't fear anything! day and night you stay guarded by 0,023 of a rescue helicopter.
